Private William J. Thompson

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

William J. Thompson enlisted in the North Irish Horse at Belfast on 23 September 1918 (no regimental number issued). He was described as being 5' 6½" tall, with a fresh complexion, brown hair and grey eyes, with tattooed forearms. He stated that he was 21½ years old, was born in Shankill, Belfast, and that his worked as a labourer.

Thompson was reported to have deserted from Belfast the day after he enlisted. It is not known if he was subsequentially apprehended.
